Job Summary Performs functions required for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of propane (LPG) terminals and peaking facilities. This position's responsibilities will initially pertain to the Steelton Propane facility. Job functions will primarily include railcar unloading and support of winter peaking operations. However, the intention will be to cross train the individual on the adjacent Steelton LNG facility. This will provide career advancement opportunity while achieving coverage of personnel across multiple facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities - Perform routine terminal operating procedures including managing and recording inventory, railcar loading and unloading, and truck loading and unloading.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment related to terminal and peaking functions, including compressors, pumps, rail towers, valves, and automated equipment.
- Maintain records / perform inspections for operating, maintenance, emergency, training, and safety requirements.
- Conduct training for propane truck drivers to allow for them to self-load and unload propane shipments.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Ability to follow procedures and directions without deviation
- Professional, reliable, self-directing work habits.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft applications.
- Experience working with regulated commodities and / or Hazmat materials
- Good interpersonal and written communication skills
- Participate in an on-call rotation and travel to other UGIES facilities.
- Basic ability to comprehend chemical attributes, pressure, hydraulics, and flow
Education and Experience - High School Diploma or equivalent. Related technical / mechanical degree is desired.
- At least 2 years of industry related experience preferred
- PERC - CETP - Propane Education and Research Council training is beneficial
- Class A / B CDL a plus
- Formal experience in the trades preferred.
